The Supplier Industrialization Engineer joins the heavy metal and mechanical systems team to enable development and production flow for critical components. This role involves managing heavy metal commodities such as casting, forging, machining, and fabrication from initial production stages through full lifecycle implementation. You will be responsible for vetting supplier capabilities, overseeing new tooling and line setups, driving process performance controls, and optimizing factory layouts to reduce costs and risks. The position requires technical expertise in metallurgy, GD&T, and CAD while managing complex subassemblies with large bill of materials. Working within the Serapis heavy manufacturing line, you will solve production challenges for large-scale structures like torpedo tubes and engine blocks. You will collaborate across engineering, quality, and supply chain departments to ensure supplier adherence to quality standards and streamline procurement from major industrial equipment manufacturers.
Manage heavy metal mechanical commodities including casting, forging, and machining from NPI through full production.
Vet supplier capabilities, factory layouts, and workforces for inclusion on the Approved Supplier List.
Oversee the setup of new production tooling and lines to ensure materials and processes meet quality requirements.
Drive capacity expansion and production ramp-ups for large-scale forging, casting, and machining operations.
Establish and manage process performance and controls (SPC) reviews at supplier manufacturing sites.
Identify and implement product improvements and factory layout optimizations to reduce costs and supply risks.
Lead root cause investigations with suppliers to close the loop on corrective and preventative actions.
Engage with major industrial equipment manufacturers to streamline procurement processes and ensure production readiness.
What we're looking for
Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, metallurgical/materials engineering, manufacturing engineering, or a related technical field.
6+ years of experience in supplier industrialization, supplier quality, or manufacturing engineering within a heavy metal/mechanical manufacturing environment.
Deep technical expertise in casting, forging, machining, and fabrication processes.
Experience working with complex subassemblies featuring large bills of materials (1K–2K+ part numbers).
Proficiency in GD&T, CAD, and metallurgy as applied to heavy industrial components.
Ability to travel at least 50% of the time to supplier sites.
Ability to work onsite at Anduril locations including Costa Mesa, CA.
Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. TS clearance.
