Staff System Engineer

What you'll do

• Provide high-quality computer support and technical leadership for engineering design teams in a Linux environment.
• Provision and manage physical and virtual systems to meet business requirements.
• Drive configuration management and automate system builds using Puppet, Python, and shell scripting.
• Partner with internal teams to onboard, enable, and optimize AI workloads.
• Support the deployment, integration, and operation of AI-driven applications and services.
• Resolve sophisticated issues related to AI workload access, performance, integration, and reliability.
• Supervise the overall health of the Unix/Linux environment through proactive issue discovery.
• Propose and implement system enhancements to improve the performance and reliability of services.

What we're looking for

• 3-5 years of experience supporting enterprise Red Hat Unix/Linux solutions.
• Deep knowledge and experience supporting RHEL 8 & 9.
• Strong scripting skills in languages such as Shell and Python.
• Proficient with LDAP configuration and management.
• Experience with virtualization (VMware).
• Hands-on experience with computer hardware maintenance.
• Hands-on experience supporting AI, HPC, cloud, or other large-scale compute infrastructure in production environments.
• In-depth knowledge of Redhat Kickstart and configuration management tools (puppet preferred).
• Experience supporting servers in the cloud (preferred).
• FlexLm license management (preferred).
• Project management experience (preferred).
• Experience with revision control systems (preferred).
• Ability to lift up to 50lbs.
