Staff Software Engineer, Infrastructure Automation

What you'll do

• Design and build infrastructure-as-code capabilities using Terraform and Ansible to manage cloud and on-premises environments.
• Develop opinionated Terraform modules for AWS services that incorporate security, compliance, and observability by default.
• Author and maintain policy-as-code to evaluate Terraform plans, Ansible configurations, and Kubernetes admission controls.
• Create configuration-as-code for network infrastructure including structured generation, pre-change validation, and drift detection.
• Implement secure authentication patterns such as OIDC-federated roles and dynamic secrets for cloud and database credentials.
• Map infrastructure automation controls to regulatory requirements like PCI DSS and SOX to automate evidence collection.
• Develop engineering standards, self-service tooling, and APIs to improve the infrastructure developer experience.
• Prototype complex automation problems and mentor engineers on design, implementation, and code-review practices.

What we're looking for

• Candidates must independently possess the eligibility to work in the United States.
• A bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or a related technical field is typically required.
• Typically eight or more years of related experience in software, cloud, platform, or infrastructure engineering is required.
• Strong production programming experience in Python, Go, or a comparable general-purpose language is required.
• Strong hands-on experience with Terraform, including reusable module development, automated testing, and state management, is required.
• Experience with Ansible beyond basic playbooks, such as reusable roles or collections, is required.
• Experience implementing policy-as-code or infrastructure policy controls using OPA/Rego or comparable technologies is required.
• Strong knowledge of AWS infrastructure and security concepts, including IAM, networking, and encryption, is required.
