What you'll do

Architect and migrate mission-critical relational workloads into Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
Establish automated, repository-driven pipelines for declarative infrastructure using Terraform and CI/CD tools.
Automate backup verification and point-in-time recovery testing across hybrid environments.
Define database-specific SLIs and SLOs to monitor query latency, replication lag, and connection health.
Build self-service provisioning workflows and intelligent traffic-routing layers for application teams.
Optimize high-throughput OLTP workloads through proactive indexing and execution plan analysis.
Lead technical design, prototyping, and software development for database reliability products.
Review code created by less experienced team members to ensure quality and best practices.

What we're looking for

Minimum 9 years of experience in cloud and hybrid datacenter operations with a focus on Infrastructure as Code and Reliability Engineering.
Proficiency with GCP (preferred), AWS, and/or Azure.
Proficiency in using GitOps, Terraform, and Ansible in a CI/CD pipeline.
Experience using PowerShell, Python, or GoLang.
Solid understanding of Linux (POSIX) and Windows System administration, networking, and firewalls.
Proficiency in Microsoft SQL Server and/or PostgreSQL, including high-availability architecture and OLTP workload optimization.
Understanding of security best practices and compliance standards such as CIS, NIST, and PCI.
Ability to participate in an on-call rotation every 7-8 weeks.
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or Engineering (preferred).
Relevant industry certifications, such as Google Associate Cloud Engineer or Google Cloud Architect (preferred).
Proficient in ArgoCD and GitOps (preferred).
Familiarity with SQL and NoSQL databases (preferred).
Experience with Open Telemetry tooling and alerting such as Prometheus, Grafana, and ELK Stack (preferred).
Experience with Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) principles, including SLOs, SLIs, and Root Cause Analysis (preferred).
