What you'll do

Own the frontend quality, consistency, and visual craft of the Stripe Dashboard's highest-traffic pages.
Identify and execute opportunities to improve performance, polish, and consistency across the Dashboard.
Serve as the technical voice on frontend feasibility, quality standards, and implementation approaches with Design and Product.
Contribute to and advocate for the Stripe design system to ensure consistent components across all product surfaces.
Establish frontend quality standards, including code review practices and implementation guidance for junior engineers.
Prototype and explore AI-powered experiences to change how merchants discover and interact with products.
Collaborate with backend engineers on integration points while maintaining a core focus on frontend craft.
Mentor early-career engineers to raise the collective quality bar for the team.

What we're looking for

This is a Staff-level role requiring 10+ years of experience building and shipping complex, user-facing web applications at large scale.
Possess deep expertise in modern frontend development with the ability to execute to a high level of visual precision.
Have a track record of driving measurable improvements to UI consistency and polish across large, distributed products.
Experience working closely with Design teams to translate design intent into high-quality production implementation.
Demonstrate the ability to work across a large codebase to bring coherence to high-traffic product surfaces.
Passion for crafting beautiful web experiences demonstrated through a design portfolio or frontend code (preferred).
Familiarity with frontend performance engineering, including profiling, instrumentation, and optimization (preferred).
Advanced proficiency with React, with an emphasis on interactions, animation, performance, and refinement (preferred).
