What you'll do

Write high-quality, performant production code in Scala and TypeScript for 60–70% of your time.
Own the end-to-end technical design and execution of banking systems for account origination, deposits, and payments.
Design and evolve Kafka-based messaging patterns to ensure consistent and idempotent event streaming at scale.
Architect scalable, low-latency, and secure distributed systems that meet strict financial correctness and availability requirements.
Integrate AI and agentic capabilities into both the product features and the internal engineering development workflows.
Lead technical design reviews and mentor senior engineers through complex programming and architectural problems.
Partner with sponsor banks and payment networks to integrate new capabilities while meeting regulatory and compliance obligations.
Manage project sequencing, requirements gathering, and risk mitigation across multiple systems and cross-functional teams.

What we're looking for

7+ years of experience delivering enterprise-class applications with a focus on backend development and API design.
5+ years of experience designing complex distributed systems that operate at scale.
BS/MS in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
Strong proficiency in TypeScript and/or Scala (or another functional/JVM language).
Deep experience designing web APIs, including hands-on GraphQL schema design and federation.
Expertise in microservices, container orchestration (Kubernetes, Docker), and infrastructure-as-code (Terraform).
Production experience with Kafka and designing idempotent, event-driven workflows.
Proficiency in integrating and evaluating AI in production, including LLM prompting and agentic workflows.
