What you'll do

Define and execute technical strategy for the Order Platform on a year-long timeline.
Design high-availability distributed systems for orders, captures, refunds, and settlements.
Establish clear domain boundaries and migrate existing merchants to consolidated post-checkout APIs.
Manage system operations by implementing monitoring, triage rotations, playbooks, and alerting policies.
Set and advocate for code review and design standards across the engineering organization.
Mentor engineers and provide guidance to develop talent within the team.
Develop technical execution plans for delivering major features or deprecating legacy functionality.

What we're looking for

You must have 8+ years of experience designing, developing, and launching backend systems at scale using Python or Kotlin.
You must have an extensive track record of developing highly available distributed systems using AWS, MySQL, Spark, and Kubernetes.
You should be skilled in designing services with clear API boundaries, reliability characteristics, and handling of consistency and idempotency.
Experience in payments, commerce, ledger, or other financially-sensitive domains is preferred.
You must have experience delivering major features or system components through defined technical and execution plans.
You must possess strong verbal and written communication skills for collaboration with a global engineering team.
This position requires a Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent practical experience.
