TL;DR · Staff Propulsion Engineer, Air Vehicles, Air Breathing Engine Integration

Join our team as a Staff Propulsion Engineer, where you will serve as a lead or key contributor in the selection, architecting, and integration of aircraft engines on unmanned air vehicles (UAVs), supporting CAD design for inlet/exhaust shaping, surfaces, and structures. With over 12 years of propulsion engineering experience, you will utilize thermodynamic engine cycle decks to predict installed engine performance, define comprehensive test programs, and troubleshoot anomalies. Preferred qualifications include expertise in NX/Teamcenter, Python, MATLAB, FADEC systems, and a background at jet engine OEMs or suppliers. This role demands proficiency in mechanical part design, CAD surface lofting, and manufacturing methods such as machining, composites, and 3D printing, with a focus on high-thrust class engines from 250 to 20,000 lbf.

What you'll do

  • Lead the selection and integration of aircraft engines on unmanned air vehicles.
  • Architect and integrate engine components and controls for UAV propulsion systems.
  • Support CAD design for inlet/exhaust shaping, surfaces, and structures in air vehicle projects.
  • Utilize thermodynamic engine cycle decks to predict installed engine performance.
  • Define comprehensive propulsion test programs and troubleshoot anomalies effectively.

What we're looking for

  • 12+ years of propulsion engineering experience on air vehicles.
  • Professional experience with jet engines ranging from 250 to 20,000 lbf thrust class.
  • Experience leading the integration of propulsion systems into air vehicles and acting as technical authority for major subsystems.
  • Expertise in utilizing and customizing thermodynamic engine cycle decks for performance predictions.
  • Extensive experience defining comprehensive propulsion test programs and troubleshooting anomalies.
  • Understanding of manufacturing methods including machining, sheet metal work, composites, 3D printing, and injection molding.
