Staff Forward Deployed Engineer

What you'll do

• Own complex customer engagements and technical workstreams where the path to production is ambiguous.
• Translate field insights into actionable product requirements, design directions, and roadmap improvements.
• Design architectural solutions for customer-facing systems while balancing technical debt and platform quality.
• Write and review production-quality code while troubleshooting complex system failures.
• Identify systemic issues in tooling or architecture and drive durable fixes across multiple teams.
• Drive consensus on contentious technical issues by creating high-quality designs, decision logs, and proposals.
• Mentor senior engineers and establish standard operating practices to improve team decision-making.
• Determine which field-learned patterns should become reusable product capabilities rather than one-off solutions.

What we're looking for

• 9+ years of relevant engineering experience in production systems and complex customer or enterprise environments.
• Demonstrated success leading technical domains or initiatives spanning multiple teams with ownership of direction and outcomes.
• Strong experience designing and implementing production-grade integrations, platforms, or distributed systems in ambiguous environments.
• Ability to shape technical direction based on business context and influence cross-functional stakeholders.
• Proven ability to mentor other engineers and provide high-level technical leadership.
• Willingness and ability to travel up to 30% of the time for customer sites and presentations.
• Experience with LLMs, agent frameworks, retrieval systems, or deploying AI systems in production (preferred).
• Prior experience in a forward-deployed engineering role or similar hybrid role spanning customer engagement and product influence (preferred).
