The Staff Engineer - Platform Engineering (Kubernetes) joins the Platform Engineering team to formulate technical strategies and define the roadmap for the organization. This role involves architecting, designing, building, and automating solutions for engineering and product teams while leading high-impact, cross-functional projects. The individual will develop a data platform infrastructure strategy to solve large, open-ended problems and mentor junior team members on best practices. Key technical requirements include experience with on-premise and AWS Cloud infrastructure, container orchestration using Docker, Podman, and Kubernetes, and CI/CD pipelines involving Harness, GitLab, and Artifactory. Proficiency in Infrastructure as Code using Terraform and AWS CloudFormation is required, along with scripting in Python, Java, JavaScript, or Shell to support the integrity and confidentiality of financial systems.
Formulate the technical strategy and roadmap for the Platform Engineering team.
Architect, design, build, and implement solutions for engineering and product teams.
Develop a data platform infrastructure strategy to solve large, open-ended problems.
Lead all aspects of technical architecture, prototyping, and implementation for technology strategy.
Provide technical leadership and expertise to build and execute technical plans.
Mentor junior team members on techniques, tools, and industry best practices.
Manage high-visibility technical projects from inception through to final implementation.
Support risk management by protecting the integrity and confidentiality of systems and data.
What we're looking for
Candidates must independently possess the eligibility to work in the United States for any employer.
Completion of a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems, or related fields or equivalent professional experience is required.
Minimum of 8 or more years of related industry experience is required.
Strong understanding of CI/CD engineering practices and experience with on-premise and AWS Cloud infrastructure is required.
Strong experience with Container and Container Orchestration (Docker, Podman, Kubernetes) is required.
Strong experience with CI/CD Pipelines and Code Management Platforms (Harness, GitLab, Artifactory) is required.
Proficiency in Infrastructure as Code (IaC) development (Terraform, AWS CloudFormation) and a major programming/scripting language is required.
Master’s degree, AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Certified Kubernetes Administrator, Terraform Authoring and Operations Professional certification, and FinTech experience are preferred.
