Staff Engineer

What you'll do

• Architect and build scalable systems for the mission-critical internal and external observability platform.
• Design and implement improvements to help customers diagnose root causes of production issues quickly.
• Write, debug, and optimize high-performance database code while ensuring security and durability.
• Manage large-scale projects by coordinating with stakeholders to define product roadmaps and technical direction.
• Mentor team members on coding standards, best practices, and technical growth.
• Handle production customer escalations and participate in the on-call rotation.
• Investigate performance regressions and ensure high-quality unit and integration testing.
• Interview candidates for advanced software engineering positions within the organization.

What we're looking for

• Minimum 10 years of experience in designing, programming, debugging, and tuning distributed or highly concurrent Go/Java/C/C++ systems.
• Experience running latency-sensitive, high-throughput systems.
• Strong systems fundamentals including multi-threaded programming and performance profiling.
• Familiarity with database internals or building core components for data processing systems.
• Familiarity with the observability ecosystem and best practices.
• Excellent verbal and written technical communication skills to collaborate and mentor engineers.
• Excellent time and project management skills to assess project cost and complexity.
• Understanding of information security management.
