Staff Engineer, Applied AI

What you'll do

• Identify and evaluate opportunities to automate business processes using AI, intelligent workflows, and agent-based systems.
• Architect, build, and deploy production-ready AI solutions for automation, document intelligence, and decision support.
• Design and implement agentic workflows that orchestrate tools, APIs, and reasoning steps to automate complex processes.
• Integrate knowledge graphs to enhance reasoning, entity relationships, and multi-step context retrieval.
• Build scalable, resilient systems that meet high standards for performance and availability in production environments.
• Conduct rigorous experimentation and evaluation including hypothesis definition, measurement, and iterative improvement of AI models.
• Establish engineering best practices for the reliability, safety, governance, and monitoring of production AI systems.
• Mentor engineers and scientists on LLMs, agentic workflows, and technical architecture through coaching and code reviews.

What we're looking for

• Must have professional software engineering or applied machine learning experience.
• Must have experience working with Generative AI or LLM-based systems in production.
• Proven track record of building scalable, resilient, and secure products that run reliably in production environments.
• Strong understanding of agent architectures, workflow orchestration, RAG, vector databases, and knowledge graph integration.
• Experience mentoring engineers and scientists in AI, LLM, and agent-based system design.
• Proficiency in distributed systems, service design, performance optimization, and reliability engineering.
• Ability to collaborate with cross-functional partners to translate business needs into technical designs.
• Ability to communicate complex technical topics to senior leadership and non-technical stakeholders.
