Staff DevOps Engineer, Compiler Infrastructure

What you'll do

• Design and maintain high-performance CI/CD pipelines tailored for iterative compiler development.
• Automate routine tasks and integrate robust testing mechanisms to improve pipeline reliability.
• Develop automated systems to track and visualize performance metrics like execution speed and memory usage.
• Provision and manage scalable build farms across hybrid-cloud and on-premise environments using Docker or Kubernetes.
• Manage bare metal and virtualized testing environments for diverse Instruction Set Architectures (ISAs).
• Optimize build systems like CMake and Ninja to reduce developer feedback loop times.
• Troubleshoot low-level system issues, linker errors, and environment-specific discrepancies.

What we're looking for

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
• Deep knowledge of Linux/Unix internals and shell scripting (Bash) with a focus on performance tuning.
• Proficiency in Python for automation and reading knowledge of C/C++ to troubleshoot build failures.
• Extensive experience with CI/CD pipeline automation using tools like Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or Buildbot.
• Experience with Docker containerization and managing scalable build farms in hybrid-cloud or on-premise environments.
• Ability to manage "bare metal" and virtualized testing environments for diverse Instruction Set Architectures (ISAs).
• Expertise in optimizing build systems such as CMake and Ninja to reduce developer feedback loops.
• Experience contributing to or managing builds for open-source projects, particularly those related to LLVM.
