Staff Data Scientist, Experimentation

What you'll do

• Design and build a next-generation experimentation platform for the Ads Platform organization.
• Develop statistical methods and experiment designs that account for marketplace dynamics and yield reliable treatment effects.
• Conduct rigorous end-to-end analyses using SQL, Python, and causal inference to improve treatment effect estimates.
• Build scalable data pipelines and automated reporting tools using SQL, PySpark, or Scala.
• Provide expert technical guidance on statistical techniques and experiment design to engineers and scientists.
• Design and execute counterfactual causal inference studies to measure the long-term impact of interventions.
• Identify and prioritize high-impact questions by collaborating directly with senior stakeholders.
• Mentor junior engineers and scientists on the team regarding data science and engineering best practices.

What we're looking for

• 8+ years of experience in software and data science or statistics.
• 8+ years of industry experience building scalable applications.
• Advanced degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Applied Math, or a related field.
• In-depth understanding of SQL and causal inference.
• Proficiency in SQL and Pyspark or Scala to build data products and pipelines.
• Experience with A/B testing infrastructure and randomized control trial methodologies.
• Familiarity with causal machine learning tools and observational causal techniques like regression, propensity score matching, and Diff in Diff.
• Ability to design and execute analytical approaches for complex problems and communicate findings clearly.
