What you'll do

  • Build datasets and reconciliations to support accurate and timely month-end and quarter-end financial closes.
  • Ensure financial data and pipelines are audit-ready by implementing SOX-compliant controls and lineage.
  • Design and own the architecture for curated, source-of-truth financial datasets in Snowflake or Databricks.
  • Build and manage scalable batch and near-real-time data pipelines using Airflow and dbt.
  • Define and implement reusable data quality frameworks, including monitoring, alerting, and SLAs.
  • Drive data contracts with upstream engineering teams to ensure complete and traceable financial data.
  • Develop Python abstractions and tools to improve the efficiency of finance data users.
  • Set the technical direction for the financial data layer and mentor other Analytics Engineers.

What we're looking for

  • Have accounting exposure through a degree, coursework, certifications (CPA/CMA), or hands-on experience with accounting/FP&A teams.
  • Possess expert SQL skills including window functions, complex aggregations, and optimization.
  • Demonstrate strong Python skills including object-oriented programming and building reusable frameworks.
  • Have experience designing modular, reusable source-of-truth data models such as star or snowflake schemas.
  • Have built and owned production ETL/ELT pipelines using dbt, Airflow, or similar tools.
  • Possess experience with modern data warehouses or lakehouses such as Snowflake, Databricks, BigQuery, or Redshift.
  • Demonstrate Staff-level experience leading multi-quarter, cross-team technical initiatives and mentoring engineers.
  • Experience with Snowflake is not required.
