The Staff Business Analytics Engineer joins the Business Analytics team to build a governed analytical foundation during a Snowflake platform consolidation and acquisition integration. This senior-level individual contributor role focuses on designing and building a durable, machine-readable semantic layer and metric registry to ensure consistent business definitions across dashboards and AI agents. You will translate approved metrics like ARR and NARR into reusable calculation logic, establish reliability controls for financial reporting, and implement AI-native analytical capabilities using Snowflake's Cortex ecosystem. Key responsibilities include integrating acquired business data, setting technical standards for dbt usage, and evolving Power BI reporting. The role requires advanced SQL skills, expertise in dimensional modeling, and experience with SaaS metrics to solve complex data consistency problems across the enterprise.
Design and build governed analytical data models and a semantic layer in Snowflake.
Translate approved metric definitions into reusable, versioned calculation logic for ARR, NARR, and retention.
Establish a machine-readable metric and context registry for consistent use across Power BI and AI interfaces.
Integrate acquired business data into the governed metric layer through entity mapping and definition reconciliation.
Implement AI-native analytical capabilities on Snowflake's Cortex ecosystem to enable natural-language business queries.
Develop reconciliation, validation, lineage, and monitoring controls to ensure outputs are suitable for financial audit.
Set technical standards for modeling, dbt usage, and documentation to enable consistent cross-functional development.
Identify and resolve upstream data quality and architectural issues with system owners.
What we're looking for
8+ years of experience in analytics engineering, data engineering, BI, or data architecture with hands-on ownership of production analytical models.
Advanced SQL skills and deep expertise in dimensional and semantic modeling on a modern cloud data platform.
Experience building enterprise BI and governed self-service reporting at scale.
Experience implementing governed business metrics, reconciliation controls, and consistent analytical definitions across enterprise reporting environments.
Demonstrated ability to lead technical initiatives across teams and translate ambiguous business requirements into architecture.
Strong written and verbal communication skills for both technical and finance/business stakeholders.
Snowflake, Power BI, and dbt experience (preferred).
Experience with SaaS/recurring-revenue metrics, semantic layers for LLM consumption, and integrating acquired-company data (preferred).
