Senior Systems Dev Engineer

What you'll do

• Own the OISL Network Operations strategy, including the tooling roadmap, automation priorities, and process maturity.
• Lead the NetOps on-call program by designing escalation paths, automated ticketing, runbooks, and incident response.
• Build scalable services to automate monitoring, fault detection, classification, and ticketing for the satellite network.
• Develop data pipelines and observability platforms for KPI tracking, anomaly detection, and real-time monitoring.
• Apply ML/AI techniques for fault correlation, root cause analysis, and predictive failure detection.
• Perform hands-on development of tools and automation using Python, Spark SQL, and cloud services.
• Lead investigations into complex link failures and constellation-level fault patterns with hardware and software teams.
• Author technical specifications, design testing strategies for distributed systems, and mentor team engineers.

What we're looking for

• Candidates must be a U.S. citizen, national, permanent resident, or lawfully admitted as a refugee or granted asylum.
• 6+ years of experience in systems design, software development, operations, automation, and process improvement.
• Experience leading the design, automation, deployment, and support of large-scale infrastructure.
• Experience in Network Operations with proficiency in troubleshooting and debugging complex issues across Layer-1 or Layer-2/3.
• Experience with Python, Ruby, or Java.
• Experience with PowerShell (preferred).
• 6+ years of experience in satellite network operations, telecommunications, or large-scale distributed network environments (preferred).
