Sr. System Engineer - GM Defense IT

What you'll do

• Develop requirements and coordinate with partner teams to execute project tasks.
• Improve IT processes by partnering with enterprise architecture and security leadership.
• Manage operational health of information systems, including maintenance and troubleshooting.
• Monitor and document implemented security controls for compliance and audit support.
• Identify process improvements and translate them into practical solutions for GM Defense.
• Serve as a technical point of contact, resolving issues and supporting project needs.

What we're looking for

• 7+ years of IT systems delivery experience in a professional environment.
• Proven ability to work independently on significant technical matters with minimal guidance.
• Experience in gathering requirements and supporting solution design across multiple technical teams.
• Strong understanding of government cybersecurity frameworks like CMMC, DFARS, NIST SP 800-171.
• Knowledge of export controls and handling sensitive data such as CUI, ITAR, EAR.
• Ability to develop applications or tools that enhance operational efficiency and supportability.
• Willingness and ability to pass vetting for secure U.S. government clearance.
