As a Sr. System Design Mechanical Engineer on the Mechanical Design and Development team, you will lead the mechanical architecture and design of flagship server and GPU products for high-performance computing. You will manage the development lifecycle from early concept through production, focusing on infrastructure such as AI servers, high-density rack systems, liquid cooling solutions, and laser or optics technologies. Your daily work involves collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to solve complex thermal and structural challenges while ensuring manufacturability and reliability for high-volume production. You will utilize Creo for advanced modeling and tolerance analysis, perform data characterization, and provide technical mentorship. The role requires expertise in sheet metal, injection molding, die casting, and extrusion processes to address the demanding mechanical requirements of modern data center platforms and semiconductor integration within a fast-paced environment.
Lead the mechanical design and architecture for flagship server and GPU products in data centers.
Develop integrated systems including rack-level components, cooling solutions, and laser/optics technologies.
Execute advanced mechanical modeling and tolerance analyses using Creo to meet performance and cost targets.
Champion Design for Manufacturability (DFM) and Design for Reliability (DFR) for high-volume production.
Conduct post-silicon development activities including test planning, characterization, and data analysis.
Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers during cross-functional design reviews.
Drive the continuous improvement of mechanical design processes and emerging engineering best practices.
What we're looking for
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
Proven senior-level experience leading mechanical design and development for server, networking, switch, storage, or high-performance computing platforms.
Advanced proficiency in CAD software such as Creo or SolidWorks for complex modeling and assembly management.
Deep understanding of mechanical materials, manufacturing processes like sheet metal and injection molding, and industry standards.
Expertise in thermal management, cooling systems, and advanced mechanical modeling tools.
Proficiency in statistical methods, structural analysis, tolerance analysis, and Finite Element Analysis (FEA).
Experience with high-performance computing infrastructure including rack integration, data center platforms, and optics or laser technologies.
Demonstrated ability to lead complex engineering programs from concept through volume production while mentoring junior engineers.
