Sr. Specialist, Systems Engineering will join the engineering team to support program objectives through the management of complex electronic systems. The role involves defining, decomposing, and verifying hardware and software requirements while ensuring traceability through model-based systems engineering processes. Day-to-day responsibilities include developing system specifications, interface definitions, trade studies, and detailed designs, as well as analyzing design verification test data and coordinating artifacts for program design reviews. The position requires proficiency in MBSE, DOORs, and tools like Cameo or MS Visio. Candidates should possess experience with standard systems engineering processes such as MIL-STD-499 or IEEE 1220. Define, decompose, and manage hardware and software requirements for complex electronic systems.
Utilize Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) processes to improve development speed and quality.
Develop technical work products including system specifications, interface definitions, and trade studies.
Coordinate engineering artifacts and documentation for formal program design reviews.
Identify project risks and develop mitigation plans in coordination with leadership.
Analyze data from design verification tests to ensure system performance.
Brief internal and external customers on project status and technical results.
What we're looking for
Bachelor's degree in engineering or equivalent technical discipline and minimum 6 years of relevant experience, or a graduate degree and minimum 4 years of experience.
At least 2 years of experience in systems engineering and the government program acquisition lifecycle.
At least 1 year of experience working with standard system engineering processes such as MIL-STD-499, EIA-632, IEEE 1220, or IEEE/ISO/IEC 15288.
At least 1 year of experience working with DOORs and Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE).
Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Secret security clearance.
Familiarity with underwater products and acoustics (preferred).
Active DoD clearance with current 6-year update (preferred).
