Sr. Specialist, Supplier Quality Engineer serves as a primary quality interface between suppliers and internal cross-functional teams including engineering, manufacturing, supply chain, and logistics. This role is responsible for managing incoming material discrepancies and driving supplier corrective action requests, root cause analysis, and verification of permanent actions. The individual will conduct audits, perform process reviews, monitor performance metrics, and manage nonconformance resolutions to ensure compliance with technical specifications and contractual requirements. Key responsibilities include supporting first article inspections, process validation, and supplier development efforts. Required skills include proficiency in PPAP implementation, ISO9001/AS9100 standards, Lean concepts, and predictive quality methodologies. The role requires the ability to interpret engineering drawings and manage complex issues regarding machining, fabrication, and electronics assembly while ensuring all materials meet strict production requirements for defense-related programs.
Manage incoming material discrepancies and resolve quality issues related to suppliers and subcontractors.
Drive supplier corrective action requests, root cause analysis, and verification of permanent corrective actions.
Conduct supplier evaluations, audits, and process reviews to ensure compliance with contract specifications.
Monitor supplier performance metrics to proactively address risks affecting cost, quality, and schedule.
Interpret engineering drawings and flow-down requirements to ensure supplier compliance with technical standards.
Support material review board activities and coordinate nonconformance resolutions with internal stakeholders.
Lead production readiness activities including first article inspections and process validation.
Travel to supplier locations for audits, investigations, source inspections, and recovery efforts.
What we're looking for
Active secret clearance.
Bachelor's degree in Industrial, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering with at least 4 years of experience in design, development, manufacturing, or supplier quality.
Master's degree in Industrial, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering with at least 2 years of experience in design, development, manufacturing, or supplier quality.
Minimum of 10 years of prior related experience in lieu of a degree.
Willingness to travel up to 25% for audits and investigations.
Working knowledge of PPAP implementation, ISO9001/AS9100, and process audit experience (preferred).
Experience with Predictive Quality, Lean concepts, and Root Cause Analysis tools (preferred).
