Senior Specialist, Power Supply Electrical Engineer I

What you'll do

• Design AC/DC and DC/DC power converters including high frequency switch mode power supplies.
• Design and analyze EMI filters to meet system requirements.
• Generate power distribution architectures and select magnetic components for discrete converter designs.
• Simulate and analyze analog circuits for stability, efficiency, power draw, and in-rush current.
• Create schematics for analog/power circuits and support printed circuit card design.
• Write and review technical specifications and test approaches for power supply designs.
• Perform laboratory testing on development components and circuit cards using standard lab equipment.
• Manage project milestones, budgets, and task prioritization to meet program schedules.

What we're looking for

• Bachelor's degree and minimum 6 years of relevant experience, a graduate degree and 4 years of experience, or 10 years of experience without a degree.
• Experience in power conversion design, power analysis, analog circuit simulation, control loops, and stabilization (preferred).
• Proficiency with electrical simulation tools such as SPICE or Piecewise-linear modeling tools like SIMPLIS (preferred).
• Experience with CAD tools for schematic entry and layout, preferably Mentor Graphics (preferred).
• Ability to obtain a US DoD security clearance (preferred).
• Familiarity with MIL-STD-704, MIL-STD-1275, MIL-STD-1399, and MIL-STD-461 (preferred).
• Experience with common lab equipment such as electronic loads, bench power supplies, function generators, multimeters, and oscilloscopes (preferred).
• U.S. citizens.
