As a Sr Software Engineer on the Streaming Data Platform team, you will shape the architecture and evolution of critical infrastructure powering real-time data movement and processing across a global marketplace. Your daily work involves defining technical visions, optimizing compute and storage utilization, and building foundational capabilities like automation and observability to improve developer productivity. You must possess deep expertise in distributed systems principles and proficiency in languages such as Java, Go, C++, Scala, Python, or Rust. Experience with Apache Kafka, Pulsar, Flink, or Spark is preferred. You will solve complex problems regarding high-throughput, low-latency data processing for mission-critical workloads and real-time analytics.

What we're looking for
6+ years of professional software engineering experience in large-scale distributed systems, infrastructure platforms, or data-intensive services.
Deep understanding of distributed systems principles including consistency, replication, consensus, fault tolerance, and failure recovery.
Proven experience architecting high-performance, highly available systems with stringent throughput, latency, reliability, and durability requirements.
Strong proficiency in one or more backend languages such as Java, Go, C++, Scala, Python, or Rust.
Experience with large-scale data infrastructure, distributed messaging systems, or stream processing platforms.
Demonstrated track record of providing technical leadership for complex, multi-team engineering initiatives.
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or equivalent practical experience.
Advanced degree in Computer Science or a related field (preferred).
