Senior Software Development Engineer 4

What you'll do

• Own the technical design, architecture, and implementation strategy for major systems within the distributed Query Engine.
• Build, code, and test critical services to ensure they run at a massive scale.
• Extend the Apache Spark codebase to meet specific analytical needs.
• Develop and deploy highly available SaaS applications in a public cloud environment.
• Manage data sharing and federation across No-SQL, RDBMS, and data warehouse systems.
• Review and provide feedback on features, technology architecture, and test strategies.
• Optimize team efficiency by developing and evolving engineering practices.
• Mitigate technical risks and provide creative solutions to complex problems.

What we're looking for

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science with 7 years of experience or MS/Ph.D. in Computer Science or a relevant field with 5+ years of experience.
• Proficiency in data structures and algorithms using the Scala, Java, or Akka framework.
• Proficiency in Apache Spark, Spark ML, and Spark internals to extend the codebase for analytical needs.
• Proven knowledge in developing and deploying highly available SaaS applications and services in a public cloud.
• Proficiency in big-data engineering and cloud-based data warehouses.
• In-depth experience with No-SQL, RDBMS, data warehouses, data sharing, and federation.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Experience with LLM/vertical LLM for improving product intelligence (preferred).
