As a Sr. RF Front-End Module Design Engineer (RFIC Engineering), you will join the team developing cutting-edge RF modules for the Starlink Mobile network. You will be responsible for the specification, material selection, design, simulation, fabrication, and optimization of compact multi-chip modules containing custom RF front-end components. Your daily work involves integrating RFICs like power amplifiers and low noise amplifiers with BAW/SAW filters and printed passives into MCMs for 5G NR, LTE, and Wi-Fi applications. You will utilize tools such as ADS, HFSS, AWR, MATLAB, and Python to perform circuit and EM simulations while managing laminate suppliers and developing ATE test plans. The role focuses on solving complex hardware challenges in the satellite communications space by ensuring high-performance connectivity through advanced semiconductor packaging and robust RFIC integration for mobile networks.
Design and develop RF front-end multi-chip modules (MCMs) for 5G NR, LTE, and Wi-Fi applications.
Integrate RFICs, power management ICs, BAW/SAW filters, and passive components into compact MCM designs.
Perform detailed circuit and electromagnetic simulations to optimize module performance and sub-component integration.
Conduct lab bring-up, characterization, and debugging of prototype modules to drive design improvements.
Manage laminate and assembly suppliers while coordinating with OSAT teams on ATE test plan implementation.
Support the integration of RF modules into production PCBAs for high-volume manufacturing.
Perform yield analysis and implement design optimizations to ensure successful mass production.
What we're looking for
Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, or computer science.
5+ years of research and/or industry experience in RF/Microwave engineering or RFIC engineering.
Master’s degree or PhD in an engineering discipline with emphasis in RF/microwave circuits, BAW/SAW resonators, advanced semiconductor packaging, or electromagnetic theory.
Experience designing multi-chip RF modules for cellular or Wi-Fi applications.
Proficiency in RF/microwave design tools such as ADS, HFSS, and AWR.
Familiarity with radio test equipment including spectrum analyzers, vector signal analyzers, and network analyzers.
Programming experience in Python or MATLAB for modeling, analysis, and test automation.
Must be a U.S. citizen, permanent resident, or eligible for required export control authorizations.
