As an RF/Microwave Engineer (RFIC Engineering), you will join a cross-disciplinary team to develop next-generation RFICs for space and ground infrastructures. You will be responsible for simulating and modeling RF front-end systems, deriving hardware specifications, and developing microwave circuits, components, MMICs, boards, and packages. Your daily work involves characterizing prototypes, analyzing full radio performance, and assisting in the development of automated test equipment for lab measurements. The role requires expertise in linear and non-linear circuits like power amplifiers, mixers, and filters, as well as experience with tools such as ADS, HFSS, AWR, Altium Designer, Matlab, Python, and C++. You will work within the Ku, Ka, V, and E-band frequency ranges to solve connectivity challenges for the Starlink network, utilizing knowledge of digital communication systems and electromagnetic propagation.

What you'll do

Simulate and model RF front-end systems to partition functions between hardware and software domains.
Derive technical specifications for RF systems and individual RF blocks.
Develop RF/microwave circuits, components, MMICs, boards, and packages.
Evaluate and characterize prototypes and various RF components.
Analyze and characterize full radio performance across the system.
Develop automated test equipment for laboratory measurements.
Collaborate with manufacturing engineers on production testing of RF avionics components.

What we're looking for

Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline.
2+ years of research and/or industry experience in RF/microwave circuit design.
Master's degree or PhD in an engineering discipline with emphasis in RF/microwave circuits or electromagnetic theory.
Experience designing linear and non-linear circuits such as power amplifiers, LNAs, mixers, filters, and PLLs.
Proficiency in RF/microwave design using tools like ADS, HFSS, AWR, or similar software.
Experience with radio test equipment including spectrum analyzers, vector signal analyzers, and network analyzers.
Programming experience in Python, LabVIEW, Matlab, C++, or equivalent for modeling and test automation.
Must be a U.S. citizen, permanent resident, refugee, or asylee to meet ITAR requirements.
