As a Sr. RAN Software Engineer (Starlink Mobile), you will join the Starlink Mobile program to develop a satellite-to-mobile network providing global cellular connectivity. You will lead the validation and optimization of the 4G/5G RAN software protocol stack by designing and maintaining CI/CD test automation frameworks for eNB/gNB feature validation. Your daily work involves analyzing UE and eNB/gNB logs to root-cause issues, building software tools and data pipelines to optimize network KPIs, and troubleshooting RAN lab infrastructure. You will utilize Python, C, and C++ to manage automated LTE/5G-NR test cases. The role requires deep knowledge of 3GPP specifications and R17+ RAN features to resolve software issues at the PHY, MAC, and RRC layers for direct-to-cell service.

What you'll do

Design, develop, and maintain CI/CD test automation frameworks for eNB/gNB feature validation.
Analyze UE and eNB/gNB logs to debug and root-cause complex RAN software issues.
Build software tools and data pipelines to analyze RAN performance and optimize network KPIs.
Manage and prioritize network issues to drive resolution with development teams.
Troubleshoot and maintain RAN lab infrastructure in coordination with partner teams.
Validate and optimize the 4G/5G RAN software protocol stack.

What we're looking for

Bachelor’s degree in a STEM discipline.
5+ years of Python/C/C++ coding experience.
5+ years of experience developing, executing, and managing automated LTE/5G-NR test cases.
In-depth knowledge of 3GPP specifications and R17+ RAN features (preferred).
Experience with user equipment (UE) log analysis and associated software tools (QXDM/XCAL) (preferred).
Experience developing test automation frameworks or CI/CD pipelines (preferred).
Strong understanding of LTE and 5G-NR protocols with hands-on experience resolving software issues at the PHY, MAC, and RRC layers (preferred).
Must be a U.S. citizen, national, lawful permanent resident, refugee, asylee, or eligible for required Department of State authorizations.
