Sr Protein Design Product Owner
As part of the Therapeutic Protein Design team within the Research and Development organization, the Sr Protein Design Product Owner manages protein design as a product to advance computational protein design for biologic therapeutics. This role involves building planning structures, workflow organization tools, and automations to coordinate a cross-functional team of scientists and engineers developing frontier models. The individual will capture requirements, build roadmaps, and balance resources between platform tools and therapeutic molecules. Key technical competencies include experience with machine learning, computational biology, and protein design workflows. Preferred skills include proficiency in Python, PyTorch, Git, UNIX/Linux, cloud computing platforms, and Jira for workflow tracking. This role addresses the challenge of revolutionizing how biologic therapeutics are made by establishing a robust foundation for the discovery pipeline through technical leadership and project management.
Own protein design as a product by building planning structures and workflow organization tools.
Capture requirements and build roadmaps to define the next steps for the development team.
Balance resource allocation between platform tool development and therapeutic molecule production.
Build automations to capture, organize, and communicate work progress to the team and leadership.
Establish foundational processes for the discovery pipeline in collaboration with computational and experimental scientists.
Lead the delivery of results by taking ownership of how protein design products are executed.
What we're looking for
A Doctorate degree, or a Master’s degree with 2 years of product ownership experience, or a Bachelor’s degree with 4 years of product ownership experience, or an Associate’s degree with 8 years of product ownership experience.
Experience in product ownership related to machine learning or therapeutic development is preferred.
Advanced education in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or Computational Biology is preferred.
A strong background in workflow planning and building automations for tools like Jira is preferred.
Familiarity with UNIX/Linux, Python, PyTorch, Git, and cloud computing platforms is preferred.
Experience working with biological data and machine learning applications in computational biology is preferred.
Familiarity with protein design workflows is preferred.
Strong communication, project management, and technical leadership skills are required.
