As a Sr. Principal Network Engineer within the Northrop Grumman Mission Systems team, you will contribute to an enterprise-wide digital transformation for national defense products. You will act as a consultant in specialized information technologies, performing hardware and software installation, configuration, and maintenance while ensuring compliance with cyber requirements like antivirus and logging. Your daily work involves solving complex problems across Agile, Networking, and Software environments, including implementing system enhancements and managing configurations. You will utilize specific technologies such as Cisco SDWAN, Juniper Session Smart Router fabrics, and multi-vendor Segment Routing including SR-MPLS or SRv6. Additionally, you will manage high-performance fabrics like InfiniBand and RoCE for AI and ML cluster networking, construct digital twin networks for pre-deployment validation, and build STIG automation tools to detect and mitigate configuration drift.

What we're looking for
Must be a U.S. Citizen.
Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government Secret clearance.
Bachelor's degree in science, engineering, or related field with 8 years of experience; OR Master's with 6 years; OR PhD with 4 years.
An additional 4 years of relevant experience can be considered in lieu of a Bachelor's degree.
Experience with multi-vendor Segment Routing including SR-MPLS or SRv6 with automated traffic engineering and QoS.
Experience operating Cisco SDWAN and Juniper Session Smart Router fabrics including conductor failover.
Knowledge of high-performance fabrics including InfiniBand and RoCE or RDMA for AI and ML cluster networking.
Ability to construct and operate digital twin networks; experience building/operating STIG automation; translating ambiguous requirements into technical scope (preferred).
