What you'll do

  • Lead the strategy for defining, measuring, and validating safety of SAE Level 3 – 4 Automated Driving Systems.
  • Own the behavior-focused portion of the ADS Safety Case, including claims, sufficiency criteria, and evidence recommendations.
  • Set the strategy for breaking down ODDs and validating performance per behavior and in aggregate.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define end-to-end AV behavior validation methodology.
  • Assess AV performance across safety dimensions using simulation, closed-course, and public-road data.
  • Define and run an assurance process to verify sufficiency criteria and support launch readiness.

What we're looking for

  • 8+ years of experience in autonomous vehicle or robotics development.
  • Extensive experience working on production-intent AV programs.
  • Demonstrated technical safety leadership in defining safety strategies and validation methodologies.
  • Deep understanding of AV behavior development, including ODDs and evaluation criteria.
  • Experience applying AV safety standards such as ISO 21448 (SOTIF) and ISO 5083.
  • Proven ability to influence cross-functional teams without direct authority.
