JOB TITLE: Sr. Manager, Analytics Engineering
The Sr. Manager, Analytics Engineering leads a team responsible for transforming complex company data into reliable, well-modeled data products that support analytics, finance, marketing, and other business needs. In this role, you will set the strategic direction and roadmap, manage a high-performing team of engineers, and partner with cross-functional leaders to turn business problems into scalable data capabilities. You will oversee the design and evolution of dbt models, Airflow pipelines, and data quality practices while ensuring trusted data flows into downstream systems. Required expertise includes SQL, ETL/ELT, data modeling, and modern data warehousing. You must also possess skills in software engineering workflows like version control, testing, and monitoring. This role solves the technical challenge of building trusted data foundations for operational workflows and decision-making.
Set and communicate the Analytics Engineering vision, roadmap, and priorities to align data investments with business outcomes.
Lead, coach, and grow a high-performing team of analytics engineers while fostering an inclusive team culture.
Partner with cross-functional leaders to identify opportunities for trusted datasets and self-service capabilities.
Shape data contracts, warehouse models, and reliable pathways from source data to business-ready products with engineering teams.
Guide the design and evolution of dbt models, Airflow pipelines, data quality, and deployment practices.
Balance roadmap delivery against operational support and technical health while managing stakeholder expectations on scope and sequencing.
What we're looking for
8+ years of experience as an analytics and/or data engineer.
3+ years of experience directly managing a team of 4 or more analytics/data engineers.
Ability to set technical direction for analytics engineering and coach engineers to lead execution.
Expertise in SQL, ETL/ELT using dbt, data modeling, modern data warehousing, and production-quality analytical data products.
Understanding of software engineering practices including testing, version control, code review, deployment, monitoring, documentation, and incident management.
Experience working across data, product, engineering, and business teams to translate stakeholder needs into technical requirements.
Experience making prioritization decisions across planned work and urgent requests while communicating tradeoffs.
Experience with Airflow, cloud data warehouses, and reverse-ETL and CRM integrations is preferred.
