The Sr. Infrastructure Platform Engineer - Data Center joins the Data Center Services team to manage the day-to-day operations, maintenance, and monitoring of global data center infrastructure. This role involves designing, implementing, and maintaining scalable IT solutions, including Windows Server-based systems across multiple regions. Key responsibilities include managing rack and cabinet layouts, structured cabling, and hardware lifecycle activities like installation and decommissioning. The engineer provides escalation support for complex power, cooling, and server issues while enforcing global safety and hardening standards. Required expertise includes servers, storage, networking, virtualization, and hyper-converged infrastructure. Candidates must utilize monitoring tools such as Nagios, Zabbix, SolarWinds, and Grafana. The role focuses on ensuring the reliability and performance of physical infrastructure through automation, Infrastructure as Code, and capacity planning.
Design, implement, and monitor global data center environments to ensure physical infrastructure remains secure and performant.
Deploy and manage scalable Windows Server-based systems across global data centers and cloud environments.
Manage rack layouts, structured cabling, labeling standards, and equipment placement across multiple regions.
Perform hardware installation, moves, and decommissioning, including rack-and-stack activities and end-of-life clean-up.
Provide escalation support for complex issues involving rack, cabling, power, cooling, and server hardware.
Partner with vendors to support power distribution, UPS, generators, cooling, and redundancy requirements.
Develop and maintain accurate documentation, including rack elevation diagrams, cable schedules, and capacity tracking tools.
Participate in automation, Infrastructure as Code, and process modernization efforts to reduce manual work.
What we're looking for
BS degree in Computer Science or related field or equivalent experience.
8+ years of experience working in Data Center Operations for multiple locations.
Expertise in data center infrastructure including servers, storage, networking, power/cooling systems, virtualization, and hyper-converged infrastructure.
Experience with monitoring and management tools such as Nagios, Zabbix, SolarWinds, or Grafana.
Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure.
Strong organizational and documentation skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a global team.
Participation in an on-call rotation to provide 24/7 support for data center operations as required.
