TL;DR · Sr. High-Speed Electro-Optical IC Engineer (RFIC Engineering)

We are seeking a Senior High-Speed Electro-Optical IC Engineer to join our RFIC Engineering team, where you will collaborate with cross-disciplinary experts to develop next-generation PIC/EIC chips for global space and ground infrastructures. Your responsibilities include designing and simulating electro-optical building blocks and RF/analog/mixed signal circuits, deriving specifications for Photonics IC/Electrical IC subsystems, and working closely with system architects and ASIC engineers on hardware-software partitioning. You will also evaluate and measure electrical and optical components, work with manufacturing teams on production testing, and ensure the performance of high-speed optical SerDes links. Ideal candidates have a Master's or PhD in Electrical Engineering, extensive experience with simulation tools like Spectre, ADS, HFSS, Ansys Lumerical, and COMSOL, and knowledge of advanced packaging technologies for co-package optics solutions.

What you'll do

  • Design, simulate and model electro-optical building blocks for silicon photonics solutions.
  • Derive specifications for Photonics IC/Electrical IC subsystems and circuits.
  • Evaluate and measure electrical and optical building blocks of high-speed optical links.
  • Work with system architects to partition functions between hardware and software domains.
  • Collaborate with manufacturing engineers on production testing and qualification of EIC/PIC components.

What we're looking for

  • 5+ years of photonics or electro-optical integrated circuit design experience
  • Master's degree or PhD in electrical engineering with emphasis on electro-optics IC design
  • Proficiency in simulation tools like Spectre, ADS, HFSS, Ansys Lumerical, and COMSOL
  • Expertise in designing optical building blocks such as MZM modulators, Ge photo diodes, dWDM filters
  • Experience with electrical circuit analysis including high bandwidth modulator drivers and low noise amplifiers
