Senior Hardware Reliability Engineer, Electrical

What you'll do

• Troubleshoot and perform root cause investigations for non-conforming Starshield production hardware.
• Use design schematics and test equipment to identify the physics of hardware failures.
• Drive corrective actions for products not meeting specifications using yield and defect monitoring data.
• Collaborate with test engineers to improve test assets, reduce false failures, and increase coverage.
• Identify electrical design and manufacturing improvements to increase final yield during new product development.
• Maintain thorough documentation of failure analysis findings, test results, and corrective actions.
• Drive production improvements based on findings from the on-orbit reliability team.
• Serve as a technical expert in electronics manufacturing to challenge requirements and steer value-added testing.

What we're looking for

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, physics, or another engineering discipline.
• 5+ years of experience in hardware development, failure analysis, or reliability engineering.
• 2+ years of experience using electrical test equipment like multimeters, signal generators, oscilloscopes, and spectrum analyzers.
• Master’s degree in electrical engineering or an equivalent engineering discipline (preferred).
• 8+ years of industry experience working with electronic hardware (preferred).
• Experience with digital/mixed-signal designs, power electronics, RF electronics, PCBA fabrication, and environmental testing (preferred).
• Proficiency in programming languages (Python, SQL, C, C++) and knowledge of IPC standards (preferred).
• Must be a U.S. citizen, national, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee to meet ITAR requirements.
