Sr. Failure Analysis Engineer, Microelectronics (Starlink) As a Sr. Failure Analysis Engineer on the Starlink team, you will perform end-to-end root cause failure analysis on microelectronic components and packaging to support high-volume manufacturing, qualification, and field returns. You will investigate failures in silicon, packaging, and interconnects by applying physics-of-failure principles to identify mechanisms such as electromigration, thermal fatigue, delamination, and solder joint fatigue. Your daily work involves advanced electrical fault isolation and physical failure analysis using tools including SEM, FIB, EDS, SAM, cross-sectioning, TDR, RF characterization, Lock-in Thermography, OBIRCH, EBIRCH, EBAC, and nanoprobing. You will collaborate with design and manufacturing teams to implement corrective actions and document findings in technical reports. This role addresses critical reliability challenges for a satellite constellation and associated user terminals by utilizing advanced materials characterization and data analysis with Python or JMP.
