The Sr. Distinguished AI Engineer joins the Intelligent Foundations and Experiences team to advance the state of the art in science and AI engineering. This role involves partnering with cross-functional teams to design, develop, test, deploy, and support AI software components. Key responsibilities include foundation model training, large language model inference, similarity search, guardrails, model evaluation, experimentation, governance, and observability. The engineer will invent state-of-the-art LLM optimization techniques to improve performance, scalability, cost, latency, and throughput for large scale production systems. Required technologies and skills include Python, Go, Scala, Java, C++, C#, PyTorch, Huggingface, VectorDBs, and Nemo Guardrails. What we're looking for
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, AI, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related fields plus 10 years of experience developing AI and ML algorithms.
Master's degree in Computer Science, AI, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related fields plus 8 years of experience developing AI and ML algorithms.
At least 10 years of experience programming with Python, Go, Scala, or Java.
9 years of experience deploying scalable and responsible AI solutions on cloud platforms (preferred).
Experience architecting, designing, developing, integrating, delivering, and supporting complex enterprise AI systems (preferred).
Demonstrated ability to lead and mentor an engineering organization and influence cross-functional stakeholders up to the SVP level (preferred).
Experience developing AI and ML algorithms using Python, C++, C#, Java, or Golang (preferred).
Experience developing and applying state-of-the-art techniques for optimizing training and inference software (preferred).
