The Sr. Cybersecurity Analyst joins a team of incident responders at a Cyber Fusion Center to provide comprehensive cyber defense for the company and its subsidiaries. This role involves managing the full lifecycle of cybersecurity incidents, including identification, containment, and eradication. Daily responsibilities include performing deep-dive analysis on systems, accounts, and networks to determine root causes, conducting proactive threat hunting, and developing detection rules. The analyst will mentor junior staff, maintain incident response playbooks, and implement process automation. Required skills include expertise in malware analysis, web application security, and network attack methods. The candidate must demonstrate proficiency with SIEM, AV, WAF, IDS, Netflow, Packet Analyzer, and Endpoint Detection & Response tools, while maintaining a strong grasp of TCP/IP, Windows, and Linux operating systems.
Manage and address cybersecurity incidents through all stages including identification, containment, and eradication.
Perform deep-dive analysis on systems, accounts, and networks to identify root causes and impacts.
Conduct proactive threat hunting to identify and mitigate potential threats before they cause harm.
Develop and refine detection rules to improve the identification and response to security incidents.
Develop and maintain incident response playbooks and runbooks to ensure standardized response processes.
Implement process automation to streamline incident response workflows and improve efficiency.
Mentor and train junior analysts in advanced incident response techniques, tactics, and procedures.
Conduct quality control of analyst work to ensure accuracy and thoroughness in reporting.
What we're looking for
Must have 5+ years of relevant work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree, 2+ years with an Advanced degree, 0 years with a PhD, or 8+ years of experience.
Must have a Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, or a related technical discipline (or equivalent professional experience).
Must have experience working in an enterprise-level incident response team or security operations center.
Must have direct experience handling cybersecurity incidents and associated incident response tools.
Must have strong working knowledge of SIEM, AV, WAF, IDS, Netflow, Packet Analyzer, and Endpoint Detection & Response tools.
Must have a strong grasp of TCP/IP, packet analysis, routing, and network security.
Must have extensive expertise in Windows and Linux operating systems, network services, and applications.
Must have excellent communication, presentation, and leadership skills to influence and build credibility as a peer.
