As a Cyber Security Analyst within the C5ISR Defensive Cyber Solutions Branch, you will join a high-visibility Security Operations Center to protect Department of War networks and data from sophisticated threats. You will lead investigations throughout the incident response lifecycle, including detection, remediation, and reporting. Your daily responsibilities involve correlating security events, analyzing network traffic via NetFlow and full packet captures, identifying attacker tactics, techniques, and procedures, and tuning SIEM and IDS technologies to improve detection effectiveness. The role requires proficiency in TCP/IP protocols, Unix-based systems, and cloud security across AWS, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud Platform, and Oracle Cloud environments. You will work within a multi-tenant infrastructure to defend the DoD Information Network against advanced persistent threat actors while developing playbooks and maintaining incident response processes to ensure robust defensive capabilities for critical national security operations.

What you'll do

Lead and coordinate investigations throughout the entire incident response lifecycle from detection to remediation.
Correlate and analyze security events, logs, and network data to determine the scope of cyber incidents.
Analyze endpoint and network artifacts, including NetFlow and full packet captures, to identify malicious activity.
Identify attacker tactics, techniques, and procedures (TTPs) and indicators of compromise (IOCs).
Tune and maintain SIEM and IDS technologies to reduce false positives and improve detection effectiveness.
Develop and maintain incident response processes, workflows, and playbooks.
Document investigations in case management systems and prepare clear, actionable incident reports.

What we're looking for

U.S. citizenship with an active TS/SCI clearance and SAP Eligibility.
Bachelor's degree and 4–8 years of relevant cybersecurity experience.
Security+ CE and CSSP-Infrastructure Support certifications.
Hands-on experience using enterprise SIEM platforms to analyze security logs and network data.
Experience with network traffic analysis, including NetFlow and full packet capture.
Strong understanding of TCP/IP, OSI model, system administration, and cloud security concepts.
Familiarity with Unix-based systems.
Experience in a 24x7 SOC or cyber operations environment (preferred).
