What you'll do

  • Serve as first-line legal counsel to the product team on all business unit matters.
  • Interpret and apply U.S. and international regulations regarding payments, digital assets, blockchain, and privacy.
  • Provide risk-calibrated legal guidance for launching and scaling innovative cross-border payment solutions.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate commercial agreements including strategic partner, sales, and supplier contracts.
  • Create and approve public-facing disclosures, disclaimers, and terms of use for products.
  • Develop practical policy frameworks and guardrails for new products in ambiguous regulatory environments.
  • Advise clients on individual contract issues and the design of contract language to meet business goals.
  • Manage and supervise outside counsel and internal legal personnel as needed.

What we're looking for

  • Must hold a Juris Doctor from an accredited law school.
  • Must be admitted to the Arizona or another State bar.
  • Candidates must independently possess eligibility to work in the United States at the date of hire.
  • Requires eight or more years of in-house or corporate counsel experience with financial institutions or services.
  • Must have expertise in anti-money laundering, sanctions, data privacy, and consumer protection regulations.
  • Must have experience advising on payment systems, cross-border money movement, digital assets, or blockchain technology.
  • Experience leading crypto/digital asset licensing or registration efforts (preferred).
  • Expertise or working knowledge of international law applicable to payments (preferred).
