What you'll do

Develop backend systems to deliver video streams and metadata using formats like JSON, RSS, and HLS.
Build and enhance recommendation pipelines including data pipeline ETL processes for the streaming platform.
Design system architectures, database schemas, and error-handling mechanisms to ensure reliable delivery of content.
Deploy and manage backend services on cloud environments such as Google Cloud and AWS using Kubernetes.
Develop robust pipelines for video ingestion, content scheduling, and video catalog exports.
Create integration tests, documentation, and monitoring/alerting systems for live APIs and services.
Translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions through collaboration with product and operations teams.

What we're looking for

Bachelor's degree (preferred).
7 to 10 years of relevant work experience.
5+ years of experience building backend servers using Java.
5+ years of experience building web service APIs (REST/SOAP) and HTTP/SSL protocols.
5+ years of experience operating databases including MySQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle, or MongoDB.
5+ years of experience working with Linux-based operating systems such as CentOS or OSX.
Strong experience developing microservices using Docker on Kubernetes and managing servers in cloud environments like Google Cloud, AWS, or Azure.
Experience manipulating video content, knowledge of formats (HLS, MP4, Mpeg-Dash), and familiarity with message queues (RabbitMQ, Kafka) are preferred.
