JOB TITLE: Sr Analyst, Data Scientist The Sr Analyst, Data Scientist joins the Advanced Analytical Technologies team within the Analytical Development organization to research, develop, and operationalize advanced machine learning and statistical solutions. This role focuses on improving analytical development across Pharmaceutical Development and Manufacturing by translating scientific and business challenges into scalable, data-driven applications. Key responsibilities include managing the full machine learning model lifecycle, including requirements gathering, exploratory data analysis, visualization, validation, and deployment. The successful candidate will utilize Python programming skills, Python-based machine learning frameworks, and computer vision techniques, including deep learning and classical image-processing methods. The position requires expertise in data modeling, architecture, and pipelines to deliver robust solutions in a regulated scientific environment, ultimately promoting a data-driven culture through quantitative analytics and predictive modeling.

What you'll do

  • Research and develop machine learning algorithms for quantitative analytics, computer vision, and predictive modeling.
  • Manage the full machine learning model lifecycle from requirements gathering and data analysis to deployment and monitoring.
  • Develop software packages, configure compute environments, and perform code reviews to operationalize algorithms.
  • Translate scientific and business challenges into scalable, data-driven applications with measurable outcomes.
  • Apply best practices in software engineering, reproducibility, and model governance to ensure high-quality deliverables.
  • Partner with stakeholders in an agile environment to scope, prioritize, and execute AI and machine learning projects.
  • Communicate complex analyses and model results through reports, visualizations, and presentations for cross-functional audiences.

What we're looking for

  • Bachelor’s degree with at least 4 years of relevant experience in Data Science, Computer Science, AI, Machine Learning, Computational Biology, Statistics, Chemical Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Master’s degree with at least 2 years of experience in Data Science, Computer Science, AI, Machine Learning, Computational Biology, Statistics, Chemical Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Strong Python programming skills, including experience developing maintainable, reusable, documented, and well-tested analytical or machine learning code.
  • Advanced statistical and computational modeling expertise to select, develop, validate, interpret, and improve models for complex problems.
  • Advanced proficiency with Python-based machine learning frameworks and libraries.
  • Experience with computer vision, including classical image-processing methods and deep learning approaches.
  • Knowledge of data modeling, architecture, pipelines, and infrastructure required to deploy and operationalize machine learning solutions.
  • Experience applying data science or machine learning in pharmaceutical development, manufacturing, analytical sciences, or another regulated scientific environment (preferred).
