JOB TITLE: SQA Manager, Lead
The SQA Manager, Lead joins the MOCHA PGx 4.0 and Inbound eRX teams to establish and execute quality practices across the full software development lifecycle for Department of Veterans Affairs healthcare systems. This role involves leading and mentoring software quality assurance teams, defining risk-based test strategies, and managing defect triage and root-cause analysis. You will oversee functional, integration, regression, system, end-to-end, and user acceptance testing while coordinating with product owners and clinical stakeholders. Key requirements include experience with VA clinical and pharmacy applications like VistA, CPRS, and PBM environments. You will utilize Agile and Scrum methodologies, leveraging tools such as Jira, Confluence, Git, and Microsoft 365. The work focuses on delivering secure, accessible, and reliable healthcare solutions within regulated federal pharmacy and medication-management workflows.
Lead and mentor software quality assurance teams by assigning work, setting expectations, and developing team capabilities.
Define and maintain risk-based test strategies, quality plans, coverage objectives, and release-readiness recommendations.
Lead functional, integration, regression, system, end-to-end, and user acceptance testing across clinical workflows.
Coordinate UAT planning and execution with product owners, subject matter experts, and delivery leadership.
Establish defect management practices including triage, severity assessment, root-cause analysis, and trend reporting.
Validate requirements, acceptance criteria, traceability, and test evidence throughout the Agile delivery lifecycle.
Report test progress, risks, dependencies, and quality trends to technical and program leadership.
Coordinate priorities, capacity, and deliverables across multiple healthcare support systems.
What we're looking for
High school diploma or GED.
10+ years of experience with software quality assurance leadership.
9+ years of experience with VA clinical and pharmacy applications such as VA Pharmacy, VistA, CPRS, PBM, and FDB environments.
Experience serving as a QA Lead or QA Manager supporting federal Department of Veterans Affairs healthcare systems.
Experience leading QA teams and owning test strategy, UAT, defect management, and release-quality decisions.
Experience with Agile or Scrum and SDLC, including risk-based testing and collaboration across cross-functional teams.
Experience creating and executing test cases, scripts, plans, and traceability for functional, integration, regression, system, end-to-end, and user acceptance testing.
