The Specialist, Electrical Engineer will join the engineering team to design and develop electrical systems for integrating electronic equipment on military and commercial aircraft and ground stations. The role involves creating system wiring diagrams, circuit breaker panels, and control panels while performing electrical loads analysis and load shedding schemes. Key responsibilities include leading a small team of engineers, mentoring junior staff, and coordinating design activities with manufacturing and production departments. The position requires proficiency in CAD tools such as NX, TeamCenter, and Capital Harness, along with Microsoft Office. Candidates must interpret statements of work and systems definitions to develop avionics, RF, LAN, and sensor systems. This role solves complex integration problems for various aircraft platforms within a defense and commercial aviation context.
Design and develop electrical systems for electronic equipment on military and commercial aircraft.
Create system wiring diagrams, circuit breaker panels, and control panels using CAD and PLM software.
Perform electrical load analysis and develop load shedding schemes for various aircraft platforms.
Interpret Statements of Work (SOW), requirements, and system definitions to guide design activities.
Lead a small team of engineers to implement electronic subsystems and manage work packages.
Coordinate design activities with Systems Engineering, Manufacturing, and Production to ensure cost-effective requirements.
Train and mentor junior engineers on technical processes and design methodologies.
Support the testing and integration of systems directly on aircraft in hangar environments.
What we're looking for
Bachelor’s degree with four years of experience designing and developing electrical systems for military/commercial aircraft and ground systems.
Graduate degree with two years of experience designing and developing electrical systems for military/commercial aircraft and ground systems.
Minimum of eight years of experience designing and developing electrical systems for military/commercial aircraft and ground systems in lieu of a degree.
Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance.
Must be a U.S. citizen to be eligible for a security clearance.
Ability to travel to and from flight lines and work in aircraft hangar environments.
