Specialist, Data Architect joins the Missile Solutions Segment Business Intelligence team to support the design, implementation, and integration of data solutions within Palantir Foundry. This role leads cross-functional teams to enable data-driven decision-making for missile systems development and operations. Key responsibilities include managing data warehouse governance, data quality, security, and access provisioning while building scalable architectures. You will design and manage data pipelines, transformation mapping, and data ontologies to represent business entities. The position requires expertise in Palantir Foundry, Python, SQL, and TypeScript, alongside experience with Snowflake, ETL/ELT patterns, and Power BI. You will translate reporting needs into actionable data models and pipelines, ensuring accurate metadata collection and schema documentation to solve complex data integration problems within the defense technology sector.
Design, build, and manage data pipelines including transformation mapping and metadata collection.
Develop and maintain data warehouses and transformational tools to provide actionable business insights.
Create and manage data ontologies that represent business entities and relationships for advanced analytics.
Document and maintain conceptual, logical, and physical data models to support effective data usage.
Establish methodologies and governance for extracting, transforming, and visualizing data from Snowflake and Palantir Foundry.
Translate reporting and visualization needs into actionable data models and user-facing applications.
Coordinate with IT and Data Analytics teams to maintain pipeline specifications, schemas, and user guides.
Manage data warehouse governance, including data quality, security, and access provisioning.
What we're looking for
Bachelor's Degree with 4 years of prior experience, Graduate Degree with 2 years of prior related experience, or 8 years of experience without a degree.
Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Security Clearance.
Experience building and managing datasets, objects, pipelines, and transforms in Palantir Foundry (preferred).
Experience designing and implementing ontologies in Palantir Foundry (preferred).
Experience creating Foundry applications and workshops for end users (preferred).
Experience with Foundry code repositories using Python, SQL, and TypeScript (preferred).
2+ years of experience with ETL/ELT patterns, data storage, and data modeling using Foundry Pipeline Builder and/or Python.
