Electro/Opto-Mechanical Engineer

What you'll do

• Design and integrate electro-mechanical assemblies including gear-trains, motors, and precision mechanisms for harsh environments.
• Develop electronics packaging designs that account for thermal management, vibration, and EMI/EMC constraints.
• Lead sensor and optical systems packaging, including lens assemblies and precision positioning hardware.
• Perform structural, modal, thermal, and fluid flow analyses using FEA and CFD tools to validate designs.
• Create CAD models and fabrication drawings following GD&T practices and engineering standards.
• Drive prototype fabrication, hardware bring-up, and manufacturing build support for complex systems.
• Design test equipment, validation fixtures, and production support tooling.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers while participating in design reviews and project planning.

What we're looking for

• Bachelor’s degree with 4 years of experience, a Graduate Degree with 2 years of experience, or 8 years of experience without a degree.
• Experience in mechanical design, electro-mechanical systems, electronics packaging, optical systems packaging, or product development.
• Proficiency in CAD tools such as Siemens NX for modeling, assembly design, and Teamcenter PLM workflows.
• Experience performing structural, thermal, vibration, or fluid flow analyses using FEA and CFD tools like Ansys, FEMAP, or SolidWorks Simulation.
• Demonstrated experience with electro-mechanical assembly design including motors, gear-trains, mounts, and flexures for harsh environments.
• Experience with sensor packaging and integration across mechanical, electrical, and optical disciplines.
• Experience with prototype fabrication, hardware bring-up, and manufacturing support.
• Security clearance.
