The Solution Test Engineer joins the IIoT Solutions Engineering team to develop validated end-to-end solutions integrating Cisco networking, security, and OT partner products for manufacturing, utilities, transportation, and remote assets. This role involves performing solution testing of Cisco Validated Designs, developing detailed test plans, and driving the integration of third-party products to meet industry vertical requirements. The engineer will identify software defects, author go-to-market collateral like white papers, and build Proofs of Concept to support new product development. Key technical requirements include experience with Python and the pyATS framework for automation, troubleshooting in networking environments, and familiarity with industrial IoT protocols such as CIP, PROFINET, DNP3, Modbus, MQTT, IEC 61850, and NTCIP. The role also utilizes tools like Cisco Cybervision, FTD/FMC, ISE, XDR, and Splunk to ensure high-quality software releases for critical infrastructure.
Perform solution testing of Cisco Validated Designs to ensure robust IIoT solutions.
Develop detailed solution designs and test plans to validate product releases and industry applications.
Drive end-to-end integration of Cisco and third-party products to meet specific industrial requirements.
Execute rigorous software quality testing using automation enhanced with AI.
Identify and report product defects and potential enhancements in Cisco software.
Author go-to-market collateral, including white papers and technical design documents.
Engineer Proofs of Concept to support new product development and improve customer experience.
What we're looking for
Bachelor's degree plus 5 years of experience in systems integration, network architecture, security, or technical support; or Master's degree plus 3 years of related experience.
Experience in automation using Python and the pyATS framework for solution test automation.
Troubleshooting skills in networking environments.
Ability to understand use case requirements and develop detailed solution designs and test plans.
Experience with Cisco Cybervision, FTD/FMC, ISE, XDR, or Splunk (preferred).
Exposure to industrial IoT protocols such as CIP, PROFINET, DNP3, Modbus, MQTT, IEC 61850, and NTCIP (preferred).
Experience integrating AI into workflows and debugging complex problems (preferred).
Strong written and verbal communication skills with a collaborative teamwork style.
