The Software Product Security Engineer Intern will join the Personal Systems team to contribute to endpoint platform security solutions for modern computing environments. The intern will develop and test software components, build prototypes, and create proof-of-concept applications while supporting AI/ML initiatives running on endpoint devices. Key responsibilities include analyzing technical requirements, debugging, performing code reviews, and evaluating how AI can enhance security, performance, and user experience. Candidates must possess programming experience in Python and at least one of C++, C#, or TypeScript, alongside a solid understanding of software engineering principles, algorithms, and data structures. The role involves solving security challenges for personal computing, peripherals, and digital services, specifically focusing on edge AI and on-device machine learning to improve endpoint security and overall system performance.

What we're looking for
Currently pursuing a full-time Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Cybersecurity, Artificial Intelligence, or a related technical field.
Must have no more than 24 months of prior professional work experience related to the internship.
Programming experience with Python and at least one of the following: C++, C#, or TypeScript.
Understanding of software engineering principles, algorithms, and data structures.
Experience with debugging, testing, version-control practices, and strong analytical problem-solving skills.
Exposure to UX/UI principles and proficiency with Excel, PowerPoint, Power BI, and AI productivity tools.
Experience with AI/ML tools, endpoint security concepts, edge AI, or operating systems (preferred).
