JOB TITLE: Software Infrastructure Engineer (Starlink) As a Software Infrastructure Engineer (Starlink), you will join the team responsible for the world’s largest satellite constellation. You will design, operate, and scale the infrastructure required to manage a network handling millions of daily users. Your daily responsibilities include developing automation for on-premise compute resources, managing core infrastructure like databases and distributed storage, and creating scalable software products. You will collaborate across engineering teams to improve the service lifecycle, provide software validation via hardware-in-the-loop platforms, and optimize developer velocity. The role requires proficiency in Linux, Python, C++, and Bash, alongside experience with Terraform, Ansible, Docker, and Kubernetes. You will solve complex problems involving networking, TCP/IP, and performance bottlenecks to maintain a high-performing, global broadband internet system.

What you'll do

Develop automation to deploy and manage on-premise compute resources.
Deploy and manage core infrastructure including databases, monitoring, and distributed storage.
Create highly scalable, operable, and maintainable software products.
Invent tools and processes to enable fast and accurate development and deployment systems.
Provide comprehensive software validation using virtualized, hardware-in-the-loop, and on-orbit test platforms.
Perform monitoring and data analysis to support continuous integration and release systems.
Conduct hands-on integration and troubleshooting across the entire Starlink stack.
Identify areas for improvement and create innovative solutions to increase developer velocity.

What we're looking for

Bachelor’s degree in computer science, IT, or engineering and 1+ years of experience in systems administration, SRE, or DevOps.
3+ years of professional experience in systems administration, site reliability engineering, or DevOps in lieu of a degree.
1+ years of professional experience with Linux operating systems.
Experience with Terraform, Ansible, or other infrastructure tools.
Experience with containerization technologies such as Docker or Kubernetes.
Experience in Bash, Python, and/or other scripting languages.
Development experience in Python, C++, or C.
Must be a U.S. citizen, national, lawful permanent resident, refugee, asylee, or eligible for Department of State authorization.
