The Software Engineering Technical Leader joins the Cisco Node Visuals team to build interactive network and geographic visualizations for enterprise products. Working as a forward-deployed engineer, you will lead architecture and delivery for secure, reusable visualization capabilities across cloud, on-premises, and air-gapped environments. Your daily responsibilities include developing high-performance 2D and 3D views, optimizing algorithms for topology layout, rendering, and spatial interaction, and setting engineering standards using performance benchmarks. You will utilize WebGL2, GPU-accelerated graphics, HTML Canvas, SVG, and shader programming while applying graph theory, linear algebra, and computational geometry. The role solves complex problems regarding large, dynamic datasets by creating tools for navigation and aggregation without external mapping services, requiring expertise in coordinate transformations, map projections, and spatial indexing.
Experience designing performance-critical algorithms using graph theory, linear algebra, computational geometry, and mathematical optimization (preferred).
Experience with shader programming, graphics buffers, textures, batching, and GPU/CPU/memory/browser performance profiling (preferred).
Experience building reusable visualization frameworks or developer-facing APIs with HTML Canvas, SVG, and accessibility (preferred).
Experience owning technical architecture, mentoring engineers, and leading distributed or multidisciplinary teams (preferred).
