Software Engineer, Satellite Systems

What you'll do

• Develop systems to provide secure command and control capabilities for satellites.
• Design systems for rapidly distributing and executing software updates across the network.
• Iterate on critical high-throughput networking systems across the ground network.
• Create new monitoring and observability tools for safe and secure satellite operation.
• Design development and testing tooling to accelerate engineering teams across the organization.
• Own the datacenter software and hardware used in controlling the Starshield network.
• Manage the complete software lifecycle from inception and development to testing and rollout.

What we're looking for

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, math, or scientific discipline; OR 2+ years of professional software development experience.
• Development experience in C++ and developing on a Linux platform.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret or Top Secret SCI clearance.
• U.S. citizen, national, lawful permanent resident, refugee, asylee, or eligible to obtain required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State.
• Willingness to work extended hours and weekends as needed.
• Solid fundamental knowledge of computer architecture, networks, debugging, and software testing (preferred).
• Production experience with containerization technologies such as Docker or Kubernetes (preferred).
• Security Clearance as a condition of employment.
